Sharing in Your Loss: A Florist’s Perspective
Written by The Flower Place
Last week was one that will stay with us for a long time.
As florists, we are invited into some of life’s most tender moments. We don’t take that lightly. While there were many services we were honored to design for, a few in particular reminded us just how deeply this work connects us to the families we serve.
A Beloved Gentleman in His 40s
Friends and family gathered to celebrate a life that clearly touched so many. The outpouring of floral tributes filled the room with warmth—a reflection of the love and respect surrounding him.
A 22-Day-Old Baby
For a family facing an unimaginable goodbye, we created soft, delicate arrangements—gentle blooms meant to hold space for both love and grief.
A 10-Year-Old Girl
Her service was filled with light and color. Each arrangement was designed to honor her spirit and the joy she brought into the world.
The Weight We Carry
There were many other families we served last week—each with their own story, their own loss, their own circle of love. These three are just a glimpse into the week we walked through alongside our community.
As florists, we don’t just design arrangements and send them out the door. We feel it. We carry it. And some weeks, like this one, the losses come back to back.
But it is also a privilege.
A privilege to create something meaningful when words fall short.
A privilege to help others express love, honor, and remembrance.
A privilege to stand quietly in support of families during their hardest days.
With Every Stem, There Is Intention
Every piece we design for a service is created with care, respect, and heart. It’s more than flowers—it’s a final gift, a gesture of love, a way to say what cannot always be spoken.
To the families who trusted us last week, thank you. It is an honor we never take for granted.
This is more than what I do—it’s who I am. Honoring lives, holding space for grief, and creating beauty in the midst of it.
